Cash app payment failed but why?

I started getting this sort of screen after using my Cash app withoout a hitch for years:

Cash app failed!

It then goes into several possible solutions:

(1) Wire transfer (takes days sometimes, costs extra $$$) Shows the routing number and your account.

(2) Deposit cash at an ATM (with a list of free ones like 7-eleven)

Cash is useful, but the cash app less useful if you have to use an ATM

None of these give what’s probably the most common reason: lost or compromised debit card! Mine was compromised once and I left another one in ATM.

I was combing through possible reasons when I realized it’s the debit card, not the account number!

Let this keep anybody else from going through months of head-scratching like I did. The Cash App is very useful, but only if the debit card behind it is working right.
