Jamie Dimon is My Favorite Bank CEO, but has “feet of clay” in a couple of respects and worse … feet of BRICKS.

Update January 25, 2025: Jamie Dimon has been canoodling with Donald Trump, quoted as saying “tariffs are OK” … so that’s it for my being a fan of bank CEO. Best of luck but I am off of your fan club.

I have been impressed with Jamie Dimon since the time several months ago I was having some problem with a Chase Visa Card. I called the number on the back of the card and it took me three tries and about 10 minutes and they had it fixed. At the time I was just feeling put out that it took me three phone calls and even grumbled a bit at the person on the phone before apologizing.

In fact when I woke up in the middle of the night, I had an insight. The fact that it took ONLY 3 calls to get this fixed was remarkable. Face it, banks are some of the complex enterprises that exist in the world, and for them to get my problem fixed in only 3 trials meant: (1) they were highly trained and extremely well managed and no doubt even would have had actors come in and pretend to yell at them while they were working.

Also I’ll lay you dollars to donuts they must have the most advanced AI working along these long-suffering late-night (for me … not sure what time it was in the call center I got) workers to get this done in that short time.

So once again, very admirable, Mr. Dimon.

There are only two problems that I see with Mr. Dimon’s leadership: one “nit” and one more serious.

The “nit”: one of the cards we used to use was a different Chase card and I admit this may be fixed, but when I called this card the first message said “enter the last 4 digits of your card” and it said “not found” before asking for the full 16 digits and proceeding on.

So: a nit that may well be fixed by now.

The one that’s more serious: I have been continually amazed by how much business the recruiting companies Workday and ICIMS are getting, as they both are doing something highly illegal: asking for race on the FRONT END of the application, not the back end where it belongs.

I am starting a business to try and put these two out of business:

Also I have recently moved into Managment after 30 years of experience in the tech industry:

And the Email setup I will require these two is like this:

And I recently had an accidental security training too:

And in 2023 I came up with an innovative extremely easy to use test tool.
