Recruiting is Broken in More Companies Than You Might Imagine.

Today is Thursday February 13, 2025. Staring last Saturday night the 8th of February just before midnight I was going to get just ONE more job out before I went to bed so I could be ready for Church the next day.

I tried applying to Hertz. I can’t remember if they were using one of the recruiting software systems that I’m so down on, mainly Workday and ICIMS. But the effect is the same. It’s as if the recruiting software wants to prevent you from getting a job in the first place.

Today is now Thursday February 13 and I just a few minutes ago had the same problem trying to put in a couple of Amazon job applications.

“Check your Email for a password reset” … hah!

Last Saturday night I got a message from Hertz saying “you’ve tried too many times wait 30 minutes and try again. So instead of just going to bed, I got some more tea and waited 30 minutes until 1:15am local time and tried again and I STILL had the “wait 30 minutes” sign up. By the time I finally hit the hay, it was after 2am and I missed church for the same time in a few years.

I am going to call some recruiters now to mention this and see what response I get and will update this when I hear back.

My suggestion for recruiting:

Today is Friday the 14th, and it’s not just recruiters. I tried two hosting providers, Digital Ocean and WpEngine and (a) phones didn’t work and (b) the email never came.

Sheesh!
